A Message from The Interim County Administrator
Dear Inglewood Unified School District (IUSD) Students, Staff and Community Members,
My name is Arturo Valdez and I am excited to join the IUSD family to support all of you in the upcoming months, as the Administrator in Charge of Inglewood Unified School District on behalf of Los Angeles County Superintendent of Schools Dr. Debra Duardo.
Thank you to the many of you who gave me such a warm welcome yesterday. Over the coming days, I hope to meet more of you as I visit our various school sites and District divisions. My goal is to listen to ensure you have what you need to be successful.
Schools are my favorite place to be. I have served in many leadership capacities over my 37 year career in public K-12 education having most recently retired from the position of Deputy Superintendent of Los Angeles County Office of Education (LACOE) in September 2021. Before joining LACOE, as the Chief Academic Officer in 2017, I spent the majority of my career at the Los Angeles Unified School District in various leadership roles at the District Office and school sites. Of all my positions, my most important roles have been those connected most closely with students – both as an Elementary Teacher and a Middle School and High School Principal.
I look forward to working alongside the IUSD team and supporting the ongoing work that has been done to place Inglewood Unified, as a District on the rise.
Sincerely,
Arturo Valdez
